JACARANDÁ is a Lisbon based band formed by Alban Hall (vocals, harmonica, flute, percussions) Gonçalo Zagalo (bass, percussions) and Philippe Lenzini (guitar, percussions).
Attracted by the common passion for the first Blues, JACARANDÁ create a unique sound experience, pouring the minimalist and shamanic cadence of the primordial blues into their own mixed European heritage (England, France, Portugal).
The band takes us through a musical itinerary where the Mississippi Blues, echoing through the hills of the White City, blend with a variety of other influences, ranging from psychedelic rock to tribal music.
Their live performances are raw, immersive experiences where music and words, sung or spoken, celebrate the joie de vivre and struggles of our times.
JACARANDÁ will perform live at Espaço Nativa, at Garatuja, in São Luís, Odemira, next Saturday at 8:30pm, invited by the team that programs the space (Alexandra Sobral, coordination, Rita Fouto, advisory, Rafaela Leal, communication, and Ricardo Campos, technical direction).
This program, entitled 'Nativa Nights', intends to bring to Espaço Nativa the multiculturalism of the community where it is located, opening the stage to local, national and international artists, who operate here or are passing through, in the confluence of styles and artistic languages that bring an innovative, communitarian/ festive, authorial and surprising character.
The space opens at 7pm with drinks and snacks, followed by the concert at 8.30pm and at 10pm music from the ethno world with Selector Dumundo. Closing time is 1 a.m.
No booking is necessary and we count on everyone to come and experience community, this time with Jacarandá - who can listen to their song 'Home' here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9XtEIvHYH0M.
The next session will be on Saturday 23 July, in a music jam format open to all, with entry by free donation, organised by friend and partner of the space, Dee Maras.
